Description
In every social situation, seems there's got to be a leader, a boss. Having just gotten through a national election here in the United States, a lot of us are still struggling with who that leader turned out to be. Not surprisingly, there are similar struggles in the animal world. Young male lions challenge the pride's dominant lion, young eagles fight and squabble with the experienced older guys for that perfect fish, even dog packs like to have an alpha. But no where is there as strong a reliance on a leader than in the barnyard. A good rooster has even been known to boss not only his chicken-wives around, but the other animals, too.
This particular barnyard boss was an especially proud fellow, and seemed to take his duties very seriously. When he spied the straw-topped human-lady with the big black thing in her face, his urgent bustlings of his small brood of very pretty chickens was done with style but authority. I had to admire him!!
