Description
We were directly in the path of an oncoming, mondo snow storm (January 22, 2016), and thoughts of the upside, fun side of these kinds of weather systems had naturally been on my mind. Did I start playing around with this little snowman image in an effort to sort of get myself mentally prepared for what was to come? Possibly! Or was I trying to appease the Snow-Storm-Gremlins to keep us all safe and warm?? And yes, I am superstitious.
The snowman turned out way more Christmas-y than I anticipated, but sometimes these things take on a life, or at least a mind, of their own. But I still think he's cute.
I remember hoping everyone in the storm's path stayed safe and warm ... and that your power stays on and the food and the toilet paper hold out. Ours did!! YAY!!
Original image captured with my Nikon D300 and the 105mm Nikkor lens at the Juniata Crossing Mercantile in Everett, PA, in November of 2009. Image painted by hand, digitally, and influenced by and very loosely based on my photo using Corel Painter 2015, a Wacom tablet, the art pen stylus and a wide variety of beautiful digital brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Awe, great humor in this Lois, hope you weren't hit too bad. Have been watching it on the news. It missed us this time here in Michigan!vf
Lois Bryan replied:
A late thank you, Kathi ... it was a doozie of a storm ... about 42 inches officially recorded about 10 minutes up the road ... and I'd have to say we were about that, too. But it's all forgotten now, thank heavens!!! Glad you enjoyed my little friend!!

I love the twisty, squirmy, squiggly melting look of this snowman Lois. But the look on his face appears to be a winner. Congrats on your feature
Lois Bryan replied:
