Description

A digitally re-worked photographic image taken in a beautiful small town in Pennsylvania. Like so many small towns that can be seen today, there are usually some amazing architectural grande dames ... homes that were once the pride of not only the owners, but the other residents as well. Surely this was one. I am admittedly fascinated with architecture anyway ... and this is the perfect example of why. The wonderful combination of angles and gingerbread and detail ... just look at the amazing windows ... combined with the roof slates ... the chimneys, and that amazing entry ... all stir the imagination. I wonder how long the beautiful lace curtains that can be seen over the front door have been there, and with what excitement and pride they were first hung. The appearance of the metal handrail tells me that this home was lived in by its owners well past their ability to spring up and down the steps easily. It was loved ... and hopefully it still is. I love it!!

Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Treated to much play in Photoshop 6 (NOT the cloud!) and other programs, and the faint addition of a hint of grain and a lovely texture from Florbella to add to the mystique and mood.
