A look at an amazing phenomena .. look out to the end of the fence line to the natural cross at the top of the fir tree, formed by the weight of the snow and the caprice of the winds ... or ... was it formed by something else?
I uploaded this image some time ago but had added falling snow just for fun (It's called "Oh Christmas Tree In Snow"). I've sort of been haunted ever since, though, as I liked this version, too. On the advice of some very knowledgable fellow artists, I decided to include this one here as well.

Original image captured with the Nikon D40x in January of 2009 on a VERY cold afternoon at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort (just off to my left are many hardy skiers enjoying the day), in Claysburg, Pennsylvania.
