Honored to announce that "Sprinkled With Spring" came in 1st place in the Fine Art America contest "Impressionistic Photo Paintings" July 14th, 2017. Congratulations to the 2nd and 3rd place winners. Most sincere thanks to the contest administrator, Corporate Art Task Force, and of course to everyone who voted for my image.
As a mid-March snow storm barrels its way into the greater Washington DC metro area, the local news is all atwitter about the impact the cold, the winds and the heavy wet snow will have on one of the biggest tourist draws our area boasts. The Cherry Blossom Festival.
It might be a stinker of a storm, wiping all those pretty little pink buds off the trees for this season ... or maybe not. So let's turn our eyes to a previous season on a glorious late March 2011 morning when the trees bloomed with all their might and the warm sun smiled down on tree and human alike. And all was well.
