Detritus: Now there's a word you don't hear every day! Okay, I admit it, I had to look up this word definition. Though, once I learned its meaning, I couldn't think of a more perfect adjective to describe the deteriorated state of this farmstead, and the simulated condition of the canvas substrate, upon which this painting is so effectively depicted.
