Description
A big fat thanksgiving turkey sits on the kitchen counter, just before being popped into the oven ... the centerpiece of the biggest meal of the year. Below, a tiny maltese puppy knows something good is on that counter and we can almost hear him wishing he were a bit taller so he could reach it. No amount of hopping will get the puppy what he wants, but you can rest assured that before the day ended, his little tummy was full.
Robert Browning tells us "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" I've always liked that quote, and I think this little image illustrates it pretty well. Not sure about the heaven part, but I think it's good for all of us to always have something to strive for .. to "reach" for. And once we do reach our goal, to always have another one on the horizon.
Well, the horizon, or the kitchen counter.
