Description
A full blown rose, nearing the end of her reign of glory in the crystal vase, begins to droop her heavy, sleepy head. Soon a petal will drop, then another. But right behind her two fat buds begin their journey to the throne ... the days of their lives that will expel the magical fragrance into the room and will stop in their tracks those humans lucky enough to pass by. They'll stop and gaze and admire.
"A Rose In A Vase" was hand sketched freehand and painted in Corel Painter with a tablet and digital brushes. Unlike many of my images, there was no photo reference.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Oh Mary thank you!!! I'm really enjoying the challenge. I'm going to have to move away from flowers soon, though ... not sure what's next!!

Beautiful artwork you have created with your pencil sketch freehanded and the paintbrush. I also love the colors. Corel is suppose to be the color of the year 2019. Great work! - Sherry f/l
Lois Bryan replied:
Sherry, thank you ... and how perceptive of you. I originally created this in shades of rose and purples ... but knowing Pantone's coral for this year, decided to give it a tweak!! ; ))
