Another great “local” spot for me. Glad we have the opportunity before so many of them disappear in the name of growth and progress. Great presentation, Lois. - Mike (V/F)

What a dear picture. I hope the little shop survives the current troubles. Thank you for brightening our lives with these images, Lois. Fave

Lois Bryan replied:

Nancy thank you so much for your kind note and for your good wishes for the tea shop. As it turns out, the decision was made by the town fathers of Ellicott City to demolish this particular area. To the best of my knowledge, the owners of the shop were giving thought to relocating elsewhere, but I don't think they have done so at this time (2020). I hope they do. I follow them on FaceBook and check in now and then to see what's new.

Artist's Description

5/1/2020 ... update ... An image of what is no more. This tea room, once located in the beautiful historic district of dear Elliott City , Maryland, was in the path of two devastating floods ...2016 and 2018. It has now been demolished and to my knowledge the owners have not yet relocated. I never “got around to” having tea there ... but when they reopen, wherever that is, I’ll be there with bells on!!

4/29/17 update - great news ... Tea On The Tiber, the real life tea shop upon which my image is based, has re opened for business!!!! Better than ever with lots of improvements!!!

8/4/16 - update - please say a little prayer for beautiful Ellicott City, Maryland which has just suffered a devastating flood. Two beautiful young people, as well as cars, foundations of homes, and personal goods have been swept away ... so many lives forever changed. Thank you for your kind thoughts and well wishes.

About Lois Bryan

Lois Bryan

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
