Description
For many of us, the charm of going back in time, even if it's just in our imaginations, is the fantasy and longing for a simpler time. Walking the lanes and alleyways of beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia you can't help but feel that you've been released from your everyday and are now indeed, back in time.
In the case of this summery image, beneath the lovely vine covered gazebo and behind the trim white fencing, we get a glimpse of a brick well. I prefer to believe that it's a magical wishing well. At my grandparent's farm there was a well. Their beautiful old house did not have electricity or indoor plumbing, so the well, which was actually quite a hike from the house, was a very important part of the running of the household. And yes, it was a magical wishing well.
And it was a simpler time.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Thank you, Marvin ... sadly, the reality may be that it might have been simpler, but maybe not necessarily better. But ... we can hope that it was ... and will be again!! ; ))
