Description
A simple barn and shed, alone in their snowy field except for a tall tree in the foreground, catch the brilliant golden light of an autumn to winter sunset.
The first snowstorm of the season in the Laurel Highlands of Central Pennsylvania is always an event. Once it has moved on, it can leave drifts five feet deep or just a gentle whisper of snow You can never be sure, in the mountains, no matter what the weather forecasters say. In this case, the storm left just a light dusting, barely enough to cover the leftover tufts of grasses in the fields. As the sun sets, casting rainbow oranges and golds, purples and pinks across the white, we notice that even the snow covering on the trees has drifted away. No matter. There's plenty of time for more ... it's only October.
Digitally hand painted in Corel Painter, I used the basic idea of a lovely barn located near Pavia, Pennsylvania ... then had fun with beautiful brushes, textures and colors taken from a recent class I took with Kathleen Casey. No Ai programs used.
Fine art as well as product purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
