Happy to announce that "Another Fine Mess" came in 3rd in the Fine Art America "Digital Magic Logo Contest" September 30th, 2015. For some reason, this little guy's expression reminded me of the remark made famous by Laurel and Hardy ... "Well, this is another fine mess you've gotten me into." I probably thought that because I'm pretty sure that's exactly what this little guy was thinking as I popped him onto the top of a cone flower in my garden and started snapping away. These particular frogs / toads are very tiny when they first appear in June and July ... sometimes no bigger than a thumbnail. Scooping them out of our pool and moving them to a safer location is a daily ritual. For my pains, they're very happy to pose for me. Just haven't been able to get them to smile for me ... at least, not yet.
My thanks to Flypaper Textures and Joel Olives for the textures. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 105mm Nikon / Nikkor macro/micro lens in July of 2012.

Dang!! Lois, I love you POV! I want to shoot like you! I have a Nikon 3100 but I need a fancier lens! Such a wonderful shot!!

Hey Allison!!! I started out with the Nikon 60mm ... and stepped up to the 105mm, which is what I used on this. I also got some extension tubes ... VERY frustrating but VERY fun to use. Macro is a whole 'nother world of photography!!!!
