Description
The happy day has arrived in Washington DC. Each year, early spring finds residents and tourists alike watching the local weather forecast with eagle eyes hoping that the temperatures will be warm enough, the sun will shine brightly enough, and equally important, that the winds and rains will be gentle enough. When all Mother Nature's elements cooperate, the spectacle around the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park, Washington DC, is breathtaking!!! Peak bloom, usually only 2 or 3 days in the year, is a time of happy magic!!
This image was captured after a light overnight snow that even though we were there early the next morning, quickly vanished. The good news is, since we were there very early, I was able to get some shots that didn't include the tourist crowds that soon arrived to enjoy natural beauty of the day, too.
This is my own photo, not from stock or "public domain." It was captured March 27, 2011 with the Nikon D300 and the trusty 18-200mm Nikkor lens. Treated to a slight hint of stylizing in Photoshop.
Not created using Artificial Intelligence / AI.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
