Description
On a richly colorful spring afternoon, we stand and wonder at our sense of peace as we enjoy the lovely 19th century bridge spanning Antietam Creek. Before us a hand-constructed stone fence, such as is seen so frequently in the old farming areas of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, invites us to cross over Burnside Bridge and hesitate there ... and listen to the calm waters as they gurgle downstream on their way to the Potomac River.
Knowing the history of the bridge, if we hesitate too long, will we begin to wonder if the whispers of the creek are indeed from the gentle waters ... or are they other voices ... those from long ago?
If at all interested, I invite you to investigate the history of this bridge and of this area. So many lessons to be learned.
This painting is based on one of my own photos which I used to loosely sketch and digitally paint using Corel Painter 2019 on a Wacom tablet using an art pen and a variety of beautiful digital brushes ... many from the popular Bob Ross categories.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
