Amazing it was still standing , great find! L

Lois Bryan replied:

Angie, I know ... I have another version of it in late summer around here somewhere. It's called "Ouch." And you can barely see it. The little house is gone now.

Wonderful, Lois! I have always wondered why these places call us to poke around and perhaps photograph them. For me, I think, it's because there is still a presence about them and I mentally put them back together. L/F

Lois Bryan replied:

Scott ... I hear ya. They have always, always pulled at me. If I weren't old and a woman, I'm sure I'd be one of those intrepid, globe trotting urbex photogs!!! :D. Well, maybe!!!!

Lois Bryan replied:

thanks so much, Linda ... I wish I knew what that plant is called. I googled it, but came up with bupkis. Not a clue.

Jeff Burgess

Jeff Burgess

You find the greatest sites to photograph!!

Lois Bryan replied:

Thanks, Jeff ... the really funny thing about this one is it was at the "T" intersection of two roads, the one coming at it is a hill. In winter, my imagination kept seeing cars coming down that hill on the ice, going airborne, and landing on the roof of the little house!!! Of course, it didn't happen, but it looked like it could have!!! :D

Bonnie Marie

Artist's Description

I love the way Mother Nature can make even the saddest, most dilapidated of mankind's efforts both pitiful and pretty at the same time as she slowly takes them back. Obviously, this old shed, (once found in Pavia, PA ... but there no longer) has suffered the slings and arrows of the elements.

One heavy snow storm too many and the roof gave up and gave in. But the beautiful golden wild grasses that surround it and the curious tall red flame plant that rise over it seem to want to soften the blow the little house has taken.

Original photo captured with my Nikon D40x in January of 2008.

This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.

Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

About Lois Bryan

Lois Bryan

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
