The tiniest, arguably most insignificant of the flowers Mother Nature offers up for our enjoyment. Appearing as mere yellow peeps on the roadsides. Unimportant. They come and go without our adult eyes even seeing them, most of the time. They're stepped on and ignored.
Ahh ... but think back ... to childhood. Those days when our eyes were a bit closer to the ground, and when they didn't need glasses to see the unique striations in a rock, or the veins in the petals of a flower. Remember those days?
Remember, also, holding the open buttercup under the chin of your true love to see if they liked butter. Remember that? We're talking about a gutsy move, now, at 7 or 8 years old. True love was a pretty big deal ... and getting that close ... well. And all on the excuse of a buttercup ... "Let's see if you like butter." Oh those walks home from school on a warm spring afternoon.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Seeing buttercups always takes my memories to the North. I can honestly say since I moved South, I have not seen a buttercup. Beautiful capture, it is so gentle and delicate.
