A sun-dappled front door and ornate iron porch railings highlight the sensations you feel as you stroll down the street of a quaint, historic old town somewhere in Maryland. The golden light that filters through the autumn kissed trees lining the streets fills you with the warmth of welcome.
Somewhere deep inside of most of us ... no matter how many years go by ... is the longing to go home. Even if "home" and the memories it conjures when we objectively remember it had its share of bumps. It's not the reality that pulls at our heartstrings ... it's the ideal ... maybe not the what was, but the what could have / should have been that we all yearn to return to.
I hope that the lives lived in this dear house, hugging Main Street, USA as it does, hold nothing but the best of memories for those who've called it home through the years. I think it does.
