Description
A brilliant explosion in the night sky celebrates the end of summer over the normally peaceful Rhode River in Edgewater, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Golden bursts thrust out from the center, reaching across the darkness, causing ooohs and ahhhs among the many happy spectators. An amazing annual event, originally held on the Fourth of July, the celebration eventually became a combination Labor Day / End of Summer event that was looked forward to and enjoyed by many.
This photo was captured with the Nikon D300 and the Nikkor 18-200mm lens in September of 2012.
