NOTE: FINE ART AMERICA WATERMARK WILL NOT APPEAR ON PURCHASED IMAGE.
Driving along a narrow country Pennsylvania road, you round a corner and see a lovely scene. Slamming on the brakes in the snow and ice with who-knows-what right behind you is never advisable, so you manage not to get too lost and make your way back. Checking the rear view mirror to make sure you're alone on the road, tapping the brakes carefully and rolling down the window you grab the camera (which is always sitting beside you on the passenger seat, waiting) and shoot. Image taken in January of 2009 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Lots of editing fun including hdr in Photomatix, textures from Jerry Jones of Shadowhouse Creations and Florabella Textures, and the addition of a tiny, bright red cardinal from my own back yard. Can you find him? ... for a view of the same farm, in autumn without snow, view "Sweet, Sweet Surrender" here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/sweet-sweet-surrender-lois-bryan.html

A wonderful winter scene to just watch and enjoy (and the snow is coming). Another beautiful presentation, Lois. - Mike (V/F)
Lois Bryan replied:
Michael thanks so much. This was one of those places that I saw as I rounded a corner … getting back to it and finding a place to pull over safely was an adventure!!! Thanks so much!!!

Congratulations on your sale, Lois! The red building against the muted colors really pulls the viewer's eye and the Z formed by the trees and road draws one throughout the scene. Very nice! A favorite!
