A collection of colorful pumpkins, ready for the festivities of the autumn season, cluster together at a roadside market in North Carolina, and wait to be picked and taken home and enjoyed.
We'd been driving for hours, end goal to meet a hurricane named Jose in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. But there are some traditions that must be followed, no matter the weather-to-be. A stop at the Morris Farm Farm Market is one of the traditions that my family and I have enjoyed for years. Though we haven't made the trip in at least a decade, we were all excited to see that the market was still where we left it ... and being there in September instead of summer ... how fun to see the great autumn pumpkin displays!
The pumpkins shown here are, I believe, kakai (the more orangy-green striped ones) and hooligans (those with more white). I could be wrong. I frequently am.
