Artist's Description
One December evening several years ago I was standing at the window in our family room, enjoying the scene in front of our home. The flaming orange colors from the setting sun showed up the bare trees of the snowy woods across the way beautifully. But the closer I looked, the more I realized, this was no ordinary winter scene. We had visitors!! Fortunately, the camera wasn't too far away. Though I wished it had been fixed with a longer lens, the 200mm that I used seemed to do the trick. The deer were frequent guests at what we laughingly called "The Bryan Buffet" ... our front-yard landscaping. Seeing the deer across the road near the woods on this particular evening made a nice change of pace. Plus I'm pretty sure our poor azalea bushes enjoyed the reprieve, too!!
Original photo taken by myself with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikkor lens December 23, 2009. I've held onto this image all these years ... hoping someday that inspiration would strike and I'd find a...
About Lois Bryan

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...

Lois, this reminds me of our days in both upstate NY and across the street from Vorhees state park, NJ. Our deer were pampered and feasted on the various nuts from our trees and the corn we fed them in winter off the cut stumps…our babies! Such wonderful memories…magnificent!..LF

This looks so 'familiar', which is meant as a huge compliment.... It feels so much like moments I've experienced in nature....on cold winter days, with a warm sunset en some calm deer....
Lois Bryan replied:
Roeselien .. I'm honored!! Your nature images always go right to my heart. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this one!!! As much of a nuisance as these guys were at our old house, I do miss seeing them cavort and romp around!!! They are so beautiful ... and how I loved seeing the baby fawns, too!!! Thank you again!!!
