Description
A visit along Virginia's beautiful Skyline Drive, part of the Blue Ridge Mountain range, at Shenandoah National Park, had me and the light playing peek a boo most of the time. One look at that sky, and you can see why. Still, the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley were magnificent.

Stunning! Gorgeous colors and depth. The image would have been beautiful enough without the flock of birds but, oh, what an awesome detail.

Beautiful scene, Lois. It reminds me of my favorite old dead tree in the lake which I have photographed over the years in all seasons. l/f

Lois, Your image of the Blue Ridge Mountain range in autumn is stunningly beautiful. The creative image captures all the aspects of the beauty of the Shenandoah Mountains in autumn. The mutes hues of color, the starkness of the dead tree and lively birds all create a scene that is unique and has feeling to it. Superb art! r/ Mark

As my grandfather would have said, 'This is a space for sitting and thinking.' And, oh -- it would be perfect for doing just that; sitting, and thinking, and . . . sneezing. (But, that's a sad tale for another day.) This is beautiful, Lois, and perfectly composed. I'm hoping, hoping, that you'll find a photo of your grandmother's tree. I'm betting we'd all love to see that! :-)

: )) Thanks, Wendy ... it is indeed a space for sittin' and thinkin' ... you are so right. The world unravels at your feet and just goes on and on. This is Skyline Drive ... an awesome place. As to my grandmother's tree, we just moved and one of the things I did while packing up was go though big cardboard box after big cardboard box filled with snapshots from days gone by. To find this particular tree in all that would not be easy ... but at some point I am going to get in there again, find some good old snaps, scan 'em and see what I can do with them. That wonderful tree would definitely be on the list!! Thanks, hon!!!

I can imagine the feeling you get when you reach the plateau and see that valley as far as they eyes can see! Stunning Lois! vf
