Artist's Description
A visit along Virginia's beautiful Skyline Drive, part of the Blue Ridge Mountain range, at Shenandoah National Park, had me and the light playing peek a boo most of the time. One look at that sky, and you can see why. Still, the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley were magnificent.

About Lois Bryan

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...

Stunning! Gorgeous colors and depth. The image would have been beautiful enough without the flock of birds but, oh, what an awesome detail.

Beautiful scene, Lois. It reminds me of my favorite old dead tree in the lake which I have photographed over the years in all seasons. l/f

As my grandfather would have said, 'This is a space for sitting and thinking.' And, oh -- it would be perfect for doing just that; sitting, and thinking, and . . . sneezing. (But, that's a sad tale for another day.) This is beautiful, Lois, and perfectly composed. I'm hoping, hoping, that you'll find a photo of your grandmother's tree. I'm betting we'd all love to see that! :-)
Lois Bryan replied:
: )) Thanks, Wendy ... it is indeed a space for sittin' and thinkin' ... you are so right. The world unravels at your feet and just goes on and on. This is Skyline Drive ... an awesome place. As to my grandmother's tree, we just moved and one of the things I did while packing up was go though big cardboard box after big cardboard box filled with snapshots from days gone by. To find this particular tree in all that would not be easy ... but at some point I am going to get in there again, find some good old snaps, scan 'em and see what I can do with them. That wonderful tree would definitely be on the list!! Thanks, hon!!!
