What a great capture, Lois! I had to look at this closely to find out for myself what the object in the background is. At first I thought it could have been a giant mailbox (smile). I like this a lot! V

Lois Bryan replied:

Kellice, I know what you mean ... I've got a couple of great shots of these things ... they look like something from Star Wars when you get them all together and form the right angle ... I should post that one of these days, lol!!!

Fantastic shot! It took me a minute to figure out why there was a barn up in the air! haha! Looks like Santa is ready for the slopes! f/l ((Found a kind comment from you from back in Oct and I wanted to thank you so much for all your support for me while I was without internet for a couple of months!

Lois Bryan replied:

Hi Debbie ... glad you got the Santa connection ... lol!!! Blue Knob is a top-down mountain, meaning, you arrive at the lodge and ski down instead of the other way around. We get some amazing weather up there!!!! The little barn is actually the housing for the mechanism that works the lifts. They do look funny, don't they??

Love the selective color, which looks like it might have actually been a natural occurrence!! v

Lois Bryan replied:

Hi Carla!!! Thank you!!! And yes, for once I didnt' do anything other than put it thru Camera Raw and do a bit of cropping!!! The snow from the blowers off to the side created the misty look to the background.

Lois, this is so fun, he looks as if he is holding up the ski lift building, perfect timing and a beautiful photo of winter and the fun of skiing!! F/L!!

Lois Bryan replied:

Thanks, Sandi ... I was snapping around, working with the blowing snow when he marched past ... it was perfect timing indeed!!! Glad you got a kick out of it!!

Fantastic shot Lois, the red jacket really pops in all of the white snow!...fav/vote

Wonderful image ... really like how you caught the color on the gentleman in the foreground .... L/F/t

Lois Bryan replied:

Hi Rick ... thank you. This image is nearly straight out of the camera. The opaqueness of the background and the vividness of the man are due to a snow machine behind him and to the left ... just far enough so that he was out of the intense spray.
