A quaint street scene in beautiful Charles Town West Virginia captures a row of red brick buildings partially obscured by lush trees with light green and golden leaves. Soft morning sunlight filters through the foliage, casting dappled shadows on the buildings and highlighting the entrance to Paddy's Irish Pub, a favorite local watering hole.

This image is a spring-time, cropped version of one of my favorites, Paddy's Irish Pub, which is also located here at my website. I love the way color and light can change the whole mood and atmosphere of an image.

I'll repeat some of the fun history I included on the original autumn version of Paddy's ...

"The Tiffin House, built by Dr. Edward Tiffin in 1787, is the oldest house in the original confines of Charles Town. Constructed of logs, it was later enlarged and faced with brick. The interior boasts fine Georgian mantles and a lovely curving staircase with a mahogany railing. Many of the original beams and boards, honed by the craftsman of the 1780's can be seen yet today. Dr. Tiffin, born in 1766 near Carlisle, England, emigrated to America 1781 along with his family to Charles Town, Virginia (Now WV). After studying medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to Charles Town to open his practice."

Both images are based on my own photography, not from stock or public domain, and digitally hand-painted in Corel Painter with the Wacom art pen and tablet. No Ai programs used.
