Description
An old-fashioned still-life of country-grown tomatoes and ears of corn resting in a vintage iron basket. The contrast in color and light and shadow make these humble vegetables look like jewels.
Vegetables fresh from the farm are far different from those found in the typical local grocery stores I'm familiar with. The richness in taste of these tomatoes and the sweetness of the corn were a revelation. I remembered again what tomatoes and corn were supposed to taste like. I'll trade the smooth, unblemished skins and bland flavor of the prettier store-bought varieties for these slightly split and unevenly colored ... and maybe even ugly ... tomatoes any day!!
Loosely based on one of my own photos.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

This is one of many I've missed Lois and I absolutely love this image. Funny how I popped onto this one because I've having a BLT and fresh corn for dinner tonight. These veggies are drool worthy, fabulous! L/F & tweeted
