I love it when the titles I think up can work as double entendres. In this case this gorgeous empty barn ... and the farm itself, I guess ... do seem to be Finished ... cloned off to the left rear is a housing development. It could also refer to the job of plowing and seeding ... which, unless these are weeds (are they?) is Finished. But the title also refers to the fact that I've mucked around with this shot so much ... and it has so many names in my computer (I tend to try to include what processes I used on a shot in its name) ... that last night when I did this version, the only thing I put to the end of the loooooong image name ... was ... "Finished." And so, it stuck!!
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Lois, this is a beautiful piece of work! The expansive field of green with the pop of red on the barn in the background is just awesome! Enjoyed reading the description as well! V/F!
Lois Bryan replied:
Darla, thank you so very much ... our area was original all farmland and in the boom time, a few years ago, real estate development took a lot of the old farms away. It's not unusual to find a huge housing development of hundreds of houses surrounding a 5 acre parcel, in the middle of which is a grand old farmhouse. It's very odd to see!!!!
