On a soft June evening, just as the sun dips below the western horizon, here in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US ... if you're very lucky ... you may see magic. The wind must be calm, the day will have to have been clear and warm, the frogs in the ponds must be singing their best songs ... if all these conditions are met ... the world will light up.
A tiny light will begin to twinkle from the grasses at your feet. Gently by ones and twos, then more and more, you'll soon see hundreds of firefly lights. Slowly, almost in a cloud, they will rise up and up into the trees where they will dance and sparkle and glow all evening, as if some of the stars in the heavens have dropped down to earth to play.
It's a magical time.
Image painted by hand, digitally, and very loosely based on one of my own photos captured at Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, PA ... using Corel Painter, a Wacom tablet and stylus and the popular Bob Ross brushes.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Love this. It reminds me of a TV show where a guy brushes the reeds with a stick, causing all the fireflies to start glowing, and he says when things are bad, remember this one good thing.

I like that the whole road and all of the trees appear to be lit up by the fireflies. They are indeed magical (and unfortunately, very rare where I live). I am enjoying them now through your gorgeous painting! Love the color of the sky.

Lois, I loved this beauty ...am DELIGHTED to see it again because it reminds me of the Summer moments ALL thruout my life that rekindle the WONDERment! Last year, we watched a spectacular SKY filled FIREWORKS display from our great room window with an equally impressive MEADOWFILLED FIREFLY display TWINKLING BELOW... IT WAS MAGIC!! Both my husband and I were ooohing and aweing in SHEER DELIGHT! Love this L/F ...again
