Description
An impressionistic vision of one of my favorite flowers, the forsythia. I look forward to their spring blooms all the long, cold, dark winter. Perfect in a tall crystal vase or fixed into a rush wreath for the front door, nothing could be more cheerful and welcoming. Among gardeners (and husbands and wives) the debate rages as to whether or not the forsythia should be clipped and trimmed. Personally, I don't like to see them pruned ... I much prefer to see them waving happily in the wind.

Love this, Lois! (And just for the record, I am with you in the don't prune camp. We don't have forsythia where I live, but with bridal wreath spirea, which we do have, I am partial to its lovely draping, weeping, habit, and would never want to be party to quenching the freedom and movement of its proliferation of beautiful branches, however untidy they may be!)

Carla, it's the artist in us, I think ... that lovely drape-y, flow-y feeling just appeals to something deep inside us. Hey ... maybe we were interpretive dancers in a previous life?? ; )) Thanks so much, sweetie!!! Honored that you enjoyed it!!
