So happy to announce that "Frosty Sunrise On The Mountain" tied for second place in the 1/5/21 Fine Art America contest "Winter Abstract Art Show" held by "Oil And Cold Wax Painting" Group. A winding path leads up the mountain and brings us out at the top just as dawn burns through the frosty air. The trees here are twisted and bent into graceful shapes by the winds, but sometimes a still night and just the right amount of light snow, fog and the frigid temperatures combine and all the world becomes a mysterious and magical fairyland. Don't blink ... it won't last long ....
Painted freehand digitally from my imagination in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet and art pen stylus, utilizing many beautiful brushes. Though imaginary, Frosty Sunrise was inspired by the amazing beauty we see in winter on top of Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, PA.
