A brilliant yellow sunflower, her warm colors tempered by light and shadow, is showcased against a brilliant turquoise blue sky, with hints of a fluffy pink cloud haloing the golds. The tasty treat and favorite of wild birds, her abundant seeds will give breakfasts and dinners to birdies at feeders everywhere, and many smiles to those of us humans who enjoy the birdies' antics.
This is a new version of an old favorite, "September Sunflower," also available here.
This image was hand-painted in Corel Painter with the fabulous new thick-paint technology. It was loosely sketched from one of my own, original photographic images ... not from stock ... and everything sort of took off from there.
