Description
It was September, 2017. We had just arrived at the Outer Banks, NC, listening to warnings on the radio about Hurricane Jose all the drive down. He was roiling and boiling and storming up the east coast and heading right for us. Knowing he could possibly turn ugly, we made the bold decision to come ahead anyway … hunker down … bake cookies … and pray the electricity stayed on and that we didn't get trapped. Good news, by the time he reached us, most of his oomph had petered out … the electric stayed on … and we did not get trapped. It made for a couple of unusual days for our vacation, and some cool photos. A week we'll never forget.
And the cookies were delicious.
