Description
Stalking a wild pony along the Outer Banks, North Carolina, north of Whalehead near Corolla / Carova area in the early to mid 2000's, I had an interesting surprise as I rounded a large clump of beach grass. This beautiful and majestic white egret had decided to hop on board the pony, and was "hitchin' a ride."

Being no expert in this kind of thing, I was thinking horsie looked very well fed ... especially for a wild pony. I decided Miss Horsie here was probably in the family way. All in all, a very lucky shot!!! (And I didn't get kicked OR trampled as my poor husband direly predicted!!)
Original photographic image taken with an ancient point and shoot Olympus C-5000 zoom and edited in Photoshop CS4. I recently rediscovered the image and added it to CS6 and had some play with painterly effects.

Sorry, Lois, apparently there's a 5-vote limit so I didn't get to vote for this beauty after all....

oh my goodness, I hope you did not think that I copied this idea. I did a similar thing with an Emu with the same title. I had not seen yours. Anyway, yours is totally artistic and professional. I love the way you work.
