Description
A sweet American goldfinch, his feathers as bright as the sunlight that beams down, perches on a branch of the old maple tree. It's a hot summer day ... we've been in a heat wave for over a week. Opening his wings and panting, hot and bothered Birdie wishes for a break in the weather ... just as ardently as I do myself. Beyond him the clouds in the sky begin to gather ... boiling up to a rousing thunder storm, maybe? The rains will come this afternoon ... and with them ... a soothing cool evening and night.
Image painted by hand, digitally. The goldfinch is very loosely based on one of my own photos and the background is a combination of clouds I painted digitally and another of my own photos. I used Corel Painter 2019, a Wacom tablet, the art pen stylus and many beautiful digital brushes and pencils.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
