Description
Some flowers are just friendly … the classic dog-faced pansy is certainly one of these! Even without their "faces," pansies still look cheerful and friendly and welcoming! This grouping of the darling things, gently planted in a giant ornamental urn and surrounding a bright red pole, caught my eye on a visit to Meadows Farms in Harper's Ferry WV one spring. The brilliant golds are contrasted magically with a few purple flowers and of course the emerald green leaves. A lovely grouping, sure to entice the local honey bee population … and the local shoppers!! And yes, we brought pansies home with us that day!!
I used one of my own original photos to loosely sketch the image, then digitally paint it, freehand, in Corel Painter. Don't be shy about using Fine Art America's fabulous magnifying tool (just mouse over a spot) to see all the itty bitty details I added!! Big fun!!

Fine art purchases of this image as well as products will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

so soft and sweet, I love pansies and you enhanced it even more with the soft look. I love it, Lois.
Lois Bryan replied:
Thanks so much, Sabina!!! I do love those little things!! It can be hard to find the ones with the "faces" on them, but somehow even the single color ones have personality!!!
