Description
Very happy to announce that "Laundry Day At Harpers Ferry" came in 2nd place in the Fine Art America group "Travel Art"'s "Laundry In the World contest 5/16/2020. Many thanks to the contest / group admin Tatiana Travelways and to everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!
Flapping happily in the fresh mountain breezes of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, laundry items of shirt, pants, and waistcoat, the kind worn over a century ago, hang to dry.
Image hand-painted, digitally,(by a human being - me!) and very loosely based on one of my own photos. Painted in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and lots of beautiful brushes.
This image was NOT created by AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

This reminds me of my childhood when we had to hang our clothes on the line. Dryers did not exist yet. Our washers did not have a rinse cycle, so we had to feed it through two rollers to squeeze the water out. LOL Love it! l/f
Lois Bryan replied:
Ahhh ... Teresa ... my mom had one of those, too ... the rollers scared me to death ... I was sure she'd get her hand trapped in there!!!!! And hanging the wash out to dry? And a thunderstorm would come up quick and we'd dash out to get everything in? And the times we didn't, we'd laugh, and just say everything got another nice rinse from Mother Nature!!!! Thanks so much for your note!!! I appreciate it!!!!
