It’s almost that time of year again … when the earth begins to waken after its long winter sleep. Tiny green shoots poke through the dirt, the branches of the trees show pink as the buds ripen, and colorful male birds sing and flutter to attract a new lady.

Late on an almost balmy night when the air is moderate and the stars begin to twinkle, if you listen carefully, you might hear the sound of the froggies and toads as they clear their throats and begin the first tentative callings of love.

Let the serenades begin.
