Description
So happy that "Little Blue Boy" earned Second Place in the 9/18/2024 contest Birds and Butterflies contest held by the Flowers Birds and Butterflies group. Many thanks to contest and group administrator, Lois Churchward, and everyone who voted for my image.
A brilliant azure and orange Eastern Bluebird takes a break from wooing his lady-love on an early spring afternoon and rests on the branch of a maple tree. His songs of love thrill the ear of the female bluebirds in the neighborhood and certainly make the humans stop and listen as well.
My own original photography captured with my Nikon D7000 and the Sigma 150-500 at 500mm in April, 2019.
Fine art and product purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Excellent bluebird closeup! I wish we had them in TEXAS...closest we get is Indigo Buntings, which we got for a few weeks this Spring! First time here for us, they're beautiful too!
