Description
Very happy to announce that "Little Downy Dude" tied for first place in the Fine Art America's group "Vertical Images"'s contest Vertical Images 8/11/2020. Sincere thanks to the contest administrator "Frozen In Time" and to everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!
A little downy woodpecker, with lots of attitude, hangs out on a nearby tree. Pecking into the wood looking for tasty bugs, he glances over at us with a scowl, a suspicious gleam in his eyes. Does he think we want a share of his lunch? Don't worry, dude, the bugs are all yours!!
The smallest woodpecker in North America at only 6 to 7 inches in length, he can be very hard to see. But taking the time to find him is worth the trouble ... he's definitely one of the cutest of our feathered friends.
"Little Downey Dude" is a second version of one of my favorites which is already in my collection here ... look for "Eye Contact With A Little Downy Woodpecker" to see the original.
Digital art created in a watercolor style and loosely based on one of my own photographs.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
