Description
Two perfect grandiflora magnolia blossoms seem to glow in the June sunshine as they lay on a mirrored surface, leaning against a gleaming cut crystal vase.
The photo on which this image is loosely based was taken in 2009. The flowers were grown in our front yard at our old house from our beautiful, but sadly not long-lived grandiflora magnolia tree. We tried, I think, two or three times with this specimen, but each gradually succumbed to our borderline weather conditions, eventually to be replaced by a lovely Sweet Bay Magnolia tree, which I think is still in existence at our old house. But while the grandifloras lived, they brought much joy ... I'll never forget the heady lemon-y fragrance they wafted out at me each time I walked by!
This image was very loosely inspired by one of my own original photos taken in the front yard of our home in Montgomery County, Maryland. It was hand-painted, digitally, in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and lots of beautiful brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
