Description
As fall reaches her annual peak, the crimson and russet leaves of a scarlet maple tree display their brilliant magic against a perfect autumn sky.
A favorite season of many, this image of color and light is the hoped-for vision of many. Leaf-peepers climb into the family car on Sunday afternoons and cruise the country roads looking for an uplifting glimpse of Mother Nature at her best. Dependent on temperature, wind, rain and sun, some years are a disappointment ... some are ideal. Fingers crossed for a good one this year!!

My home town, Weston, W.Va. My father, a naturalist fly fisherman who knew and loved every little trout stream in the state. As children we were traveled to all of the leaves in the state. I have such memories....!!! Thanks for these leaves, Lois! F/L++

Fabulous story, Nancy!!! My little family usually found a beautiful Sunday in autumn, pilled into the car, and off we'd go a leaf-peepin' ourselves. I find it VERY cool to be living ... and to have lived ... in areas that the leaf-peepers come to visit now, myself!!! A gorgeous time of year where magic is ready to be found and enjoyed!!!

Lois Bryan replied:
