A well loved old barn, alone in his field except for his friend, the tree, shudders down to his timbers. A wind is coming up, blowing and gusting across the land in stronger and stronger bands. Above him, the sky is turning a sickly shade of green and the clouds are twisting and twirling in a dizzying way. He's seen a lot of weather in all his years, but this looks different ... and not in a good way.
Better get a tight grip on your nails, old boy, this one could be a doozie.
I've lived in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US all my life ... a lot of years. And I'm seeing changes in our weather ... more and stronger storms ... things like tornadoes in areas where we never saw them before ... records for high summer heat or crazy rain amounts or no snow in winter are being broken every year. Whether it's global warming, man-made climate change or regular shifts in the earth's natural patterns or a combination of all ... of course I don't know. But I do know one thing ......
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Beautiful, moody piece, Lois. I have noticed changes here in the way the seasons are unfolding. The colors seem to be changing later in the autumn and what snows we are getting seem to come later in the winter, as is the case this year. L/F
Lois Bryan replied:
Thanks, Scott!! Yes we've seen a number of changes here. We didn't get any snow at all this winter ... and the summers have been so hot!! Personally, I don't like the heat ... and the bugs, lol!!!
