A snowy field, bordered with a frosty old wooden fence glows with a hazy golden glow as even more snow falls all around. At the end of the fence line, trees hunker under their weight of the snow, while two branches criss cross … forming a natural cross.
The amazing cross that you see at the top of the tree in the distance seemed to me to have been fashioned by Mother Nature herself with a thought to joining in the celebrations of the Christmas season. The light and stillness on this particular day are such that I'll always remember the moment. Glad I had the camera with me that day!
Image taken on top of Blue Knob mountain, Claysburg Pennsylvania, a bit away from the happy ski and snow board revelers. I captured the moment in January of 2009 with the Nikon D40x.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence.
