Description
Autumn leaves in vibrant yellow dominate the scene, with a quaint brick building partially visible beneath the canopy of trees. Sunlight filters through the foliage, casting soft shadows on the street below.
Paddy's Irish Pub, a go-to destination for a great meal in the panhandle of West Virginia, sits in the sunlight of a glorious autumn morning, as it has since 1787.
To quote their website, here's a little history of the building:
"The Tiffin House, built by Dr. Edward Tiffin in 1787, is the oldest house in the original confines of Charles Town. Constructed of logs, it was later enlarged and faced with brick. The interior boasts fine Georgian mantles and a lovely curving staircase with a mahogany railing. Many of the original beams and boards, honed by the craftsman of the 1780's can be seen yet today. Dr. Tiffin, born in 1766 near Carlisle, England, emigrated to America 1781 along with his family to Charles Town, Virginia (Now WV). After studying medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to Charles Town to open his practice."
Loosely based on my own photo and digitally hand painted in Corel Painter 2023 using the Wacom tablet and art pen stylus. No artificial intelligence programs used.
