"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair!" is the way I remember the iconic line from one of my favorite fairy tales. When I visited Winterthur, the home of the du Pont family near Wilmington, Delaware recently (August of 2014), I was delighted with the wonderfully imaginative gardens and beautiful buildings I found there. This particular little tower at the head of a long stone staircase really caught the spirit of a far away time and place.
Original photographic image captured with the Nikon D7000 and the trusty 18-200mm vr Nikkor / Nikon lens. After a good bit of edits, the image was hand painted in Photoshop CS6 (not the cloud) for a dreamy painterly feel, then treated to lots more tinkers.
