Honored to announce that "Reflections" tied for first place in the 9/11 contest "Weekly Photography Challenge Mirrors" held by the Weekly Photography Challenge Group. Many thanks to the contest administrator Sharon Popek and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!
A spray of fresh white roses and baby's breath in a crystal vase rest on an antique chest in the long rays of the afternoon sun. Reflected in the ancient mirror with the roses is a beautiful grandmother's clock, reputedly from the 1700's, and the hint of a sturdy white doric column. Unifying the whole is the golden light that pours through the cut glass of the window. Grace and beauty, yes, but as the clock reminds us, time is a fleeting thing. As the life and beauty of the roses will last only so long before their crisp white petals decay and fall, so will ultimately be the fate of the mirror which reflects their beauty and the clock which counts out the minutes. About Lois Bryan
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
