"September Sunflower" tied for third place in the 3/9/22 New Group Logo Contest in the Digital Dynamic Artists group. Many thanks to the group administrator, Gayle Price Thomas, and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!
On a soft September afternoon, when the autumnal light has begun to temper the harsh contrasting sun and heavy heat of summer, a golden sunflower, catching the mood of the gentle day, flutters her petals in the breezes. The tasty treat and favorite of wild birds, her abundant seeds will give breakfasts and dinners to birdies at feeders everywhere, and many smiles to those of us humans who enjoy the birdies' antics.
This image was hand-painted in Corel Painter with the fabulous new thick-paint technology with a Wacom tablet and the art stylus on my Mac computer. It was loosely sketched from one of my own, original photographic images ... not from stock ... and everything sort of took off from there.

Fine art and product purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... wall art of this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
