An up-close look at the cool nubbiness of the bark of a glorious gold and rust and orange maple tree at the height of it's natural beauty one fall day a few years ago. The dance of the shadows of the leaves on the tree trunk captivated my imagination. Just off our deck at our little cabin at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort in Claysburg, Pa., this tree has been the subject of many of my favorite images, captured in all seasons of the year. I will admit, though, that a beautiful fall day with the brilliance of the autumn colors in full force is my favorite time of year.

Hey Peter!! Thank you. I love California (who doesn't?) but I could never live without 4 distinct seasons!! This particular image was snapped form the deck of our ski cabin ... the autumn there, if I am up there and catch it right, is breathtaking!!!!!
