Description
Since moving away from the typical suburban communities of a large city, in my case Washington DC, I've really enjoyed exploring the charm of the nearby small towns. Though Frederick Maryland could be, and probably is, considered a city by many, if you know where to look there is still a lovely small-town feel to be found. The shops pictured here are along N. Market Street, right across from Brewer's Alley. A quaint, charming area, complete with mature trees along the sidewalks, and shop after shop that beg to be entered and explored.
Image hand-painted, digitally, and very loosely inspired by one of my own photos. Painted in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and lots of beautiful brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

I too love old town Frederick and its wonderful mood. It inspires and I want to find a spot to paint down there in the near future from a photo ref, (not plein air) but you inspire me also. Great work here, love the painterly touches and palette! LF
