So happy to announce that "Silver and Gold" tied for second place in the Garden Friends contest, held by the Home Grown Fruits and Veggies group 11/15/2021. Many thanks to the contest administrator, Kate Tidwell, and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners.
A beautiful little White Peacock butterfly visits a cornflower blue blossom, the light from above falling on the magical golden and silver wings like a spotlight. Sometimes the most beautiful things in life can be overlooked ... but oh the fun of discovery when we do find them!!
Image painted by hand, digitally, and influenced by and very loosely based on one of my own photos using Corel Painter 11. The original image of this little White Peacock butterfly was taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton Maryland.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
